Olly the Virtual Reality Experience Bus adventures - May/June 18
“Olly” the 4x4 Virtual Reality Experience bus is on the move!
After a process of careful planning and scheduling, the VRE crew are gearing up for the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (DATSIP) run through north and central Queensland.
Beginning Sunday 3rd June 2018, Olly and two crew will be steered toward Normanton in the Gulf of Carpentaria then south to Mt Isa to start an exciting three-week VRE school tour which will include the towns and cities of Mt Isa, Cloncurry, Charters Towers, Ayr, Townsville and Palm Island.
DATSIP has been a valuable supporter of the VRE project when in 2017 enVizion partnered a similar run to a range of schools and colleges in Bowen, Mackay, Mirani, Proserpine and Sarina.
As a result of these visits, the students and teachers living in these areas have become familiar with this type of technology at the same time experiencing a virtual field trip to five diverse workplaces. Olly is able to introduce up to 40 students a day to these cyber generated occupations and the people who tell their workplace stories in full emersion (goggles / earphones) and air-conditioned comfort. The smiles and enthusiastic work-related conversations generated post VRE viewing speaks volumes about the experience just encountered.
Keep an eye out for Olly. He is very handsome and dresses up beautifully!
